So I discovered r/recordthis on reddit and have had way too much fun recording a few things for people and getting some work done for my podcast. Someone sent me a message today asking if I would like to donate my services on Raise5. It’s a site where people can buy services for $5 from donors (like me!). That $5 then goes to a charity of the donor’s choosing. I chose the Wikimedia Foundation. So if someone needs voice-over work, they can contact me, pay $5 that will do to Wikimedia, and I send them a recording. $.45 goes to PayPal and $.55 goes to maintain Raise5, so really only $4 goes to charity, but that’s still not a bad deal.

Made of Win
I’m just giving a HUGE ‘THANK YOU!!!’ to the gals of Made of Win, a new French-horn (Julia Brooks) and viola (Katie Korko) duo who focus on the new, the weird, and the trippy. They performed my piece (commissioned and premiered by Made of Win) Space Cadet. This piece was really written by me AND a DJ friend of mine, DJ wav4rm. He made the track (fixed media portion) and I wrote the horn and viola part.
Space Cadet was performed at this year’s soundSCAPE festival in the Italian Alps and at the Rock Room in Pittsburgh, PA.
