The Firefly Variations are indeed variations on a reduced form of The Ballad of Serenity- the theme song for the 2002-3 TV show, Firefly.
My new work for mixed chamber ensemble was performed at the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at Mass MoCA in late July. The archival recording is below; the Jody Elf recording is on its way. The New Dischord Festival is a new music festival in Chattanooga, TN. My piece for flute and fixed media will be performed by Ronda Benson Ford.
Flutist Ashley Bingaman will perform my piece Unmeasured for solo flute and fixed media on April 25 at 7:30pm in Winchester, VA at Shenandoah University.
