I’m back from Italy. It was fun (go figure).
And now for current events:
I have finished my new piece for Bassoonist Stephanie Patterson’s trio. The 20-minute work for violin, viola, bassoon and fixed media will be premiered in January.
I currently working on a project with Megan Weaver, and MFA theatre student at ASU. The immersive theatre work titled “The Seven Layers of Bastian Bachman” rotates around the fictional composer Bastian Bachman. The projected premiere dates are still TBA, but may be as soon as January. Let’s just say the influences range from Andy Warhol to Bach to David Bowie to Philip Glass.
For anyone interested in new commissions- since “The Seven Layers of Bastian Bachman” is a music-heavy work, I will only be taking commissions that fall ON or UNDER the 7×7 rule. Meaning, new commissions can only be for 7 or fewer performers (including fixed media), AND 7 or fewer minutes. I will resume taking on “normal” commissions in February 2014.
