Travel Funds

I have opened a funding opportunity on Contribute to the Cause. For the festivals I have attended in the past, I have used my own funds, but this time I don’t have enough to buy an international plane ticket AND pay tuition to soundSCAPE.

If you are able and willing, please contribute HERE.

I will be attending soundSCAPE as a composer-auditor which means I won’t have my own private composition lessons, but I will get to sit in on every one else’s (some festivals only have group lessons, anyway) and instead of writing a piece before the festival, I’ll be writing a piece at the festival (it’s part of a class). I’m also saving $600 bucks off of tuition. It’s an awesome deal.

I am honored to have participated in the benefit concert for Orange Theatre Group earlier this month. The whole party took place in the basement of the Phoenix Center for the Arts, where Orange had transformed the entire space into an indoor garden. With real sod and grass. It was unforgettable. You can donate to Orange Theatre and support their spring show HERE.

I talked about this so much on TWiP, I forgot to post about it here! Tom Peterson and I won the AZ Centennial Composer Competition presented by Classical Revolution Phx and hosted by the Tempe History Museum.

I won the Judges’ Award and Tom won the Audience Choice Award. We will have a full concert of our music presented probably in the spring… exciting details have been discussed, but I can’t post about them yet.
